Why Do Rescues Have Adoption Fees?

Along with daily care costs, the adoption fees help Clay County Animal Shelter cover vaccination and medical prep costs for the pets.

Adoption Fees:

Dogs

$125.00 - Puppies from 0 months to 6 months
$125.00 - Puppies from 7 months to 12 months
$125.00 - Dogs from 1 years to 5 years
$100.00 - Dogs from 5 years to 9 years
$75.00/25.00/0.00 - Dogs aged 9 years and up

Cats

$125.00 - Kittens from 0 months to 8 months
$125.00 - Cats from 9 months to 2 years
$125.00 - Cats from 2 years to 5 years
$100.00-25.00 - Cats from 5 years to 11 years
$waved fee - Cats from 11 years and up

Fees for Dogs with special needs will be determined based upon circumstances and may result in a fee reduction.

Adoption Inclusions:

Along with daily care costs, the adoption fees help Clay County Animal Shelter cover vaccination and medical prep costs for the dogs. At adoption, Clay County Animal Shelter dogs will be current on their vaccines and will have the following:

Dogs

Rabies (1 yr. or 3 yr.)
Distemper (DHLPP or DHLPP-C)
Bordetella
Negative Heartworm, Lyme's, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis Test
Lyme Vaccine (if relevant)
Altered - Females Spayed or Males Neutered
Micro-chipped
Flea/Tick Bravecto (1 mo. or 3 mo.)

Cats

Rabies & FVRCP
Test for Feline Leukemia & AIDS
Worming
Fle/Ear Mite treatments
Altered - Females Spayed or Males Neutered
Microchipped
